Location Commerce Township is in Oakland County located in the southeast corner of the state of Michigan. Geography/Terrain Commerce is largely made up of scenic rolling hills with wooded forests, and interspersed with large expanses of flat lands. Jobs While Commerce is largely a residential town, there are a number of industrial and retail-oriented companies established in the township providing employment to its residents including Costco, Walmart, Target, Home Depot and Libralter Plastics Inc. The Huron Valley-Sinai Hospital, a major medical center located within the Commerce town limits, also provides a plentitude of jobs. Housing The housing climate in Commerce has grown slowly but steadily since the year 2000, with more families relocating to the area. Housing options include apartment and housing rentals, condominiums, flats and both single and multi-family homes. Commercial spaces as well as flat lands on which to farm are also available in the Commerce area. Parks/Sports/Recreation/Golf Take pleasure in the beautiful rolling hills and rich greenery of Commerce at one of its 8 parks. You can’t beat the lakeside views of Reed Lake, adjacent to the Richardson Community Center and Park which is home to the only natural prairie land east of the Mississippi River. The Community Center is open to the public for such events as weddings and parties. Special Attractions/Events A main attraction in the township of Commerce is the Long Family Orchard and Farm, where you can pick your own fresh grown strawberries, cherries, pumpkins, gourds and apples. Come and enjoy such treats as caramel apples or chocolate covered berries. Tours are offered on the weekends, and there is a petting farm for “kids” of all ages. Another popular attraction is the Motorsports Museum and Hall of Fame located in nearby Novi. This special museum houses and showcases race cars, trucks, motorcycles, boats and even snowmobiles!
